Quirky Hotel Stays: Sleep in an igloo in Switzerland

Not quite a yurt and not quite an igloo, this quirky hotel stay consists of 15 unique WhitePods, lying at the at the foot of the Dents-du-Midi. Set in a private ski area this igloo in Switzerland makes for the perfect cosy winter retreat.

Seeming to almost disappear into the snow-covered Alpine landscape; the pods sit on their own wooden platform, 1,400m above sea level. This unique igloo in Switzerland affords stunning views across the mountains.

While they may seem like eco-tents from the outside, the pods are nothing like a tent from the inside, being spacious, dry and warm with small fireplaces, luxurious double beds, sheepskin rugs and cosy seating areas. The pods are even en suite, with fully fitted showers, sinks, toilets and hairdryers.

For dining or relaxation, head to the large wooden chalet Les Cerniers, which has free Wi-Fi and serves traditional Swiss and French cuisine with dishes such as white wine soup, fillet of beef with truffle emulsion and vegetable risotto.
